833-45 - Rain I

A new work under my musical alter-ego of 833-45 is now out on the Webbed Hand net label.  The newest release in the Rain series of recordings, which focuses on "minimalistic soundscapes, with motifs played out cyclically and repetitively, rather than progressively, in order to induce a relaxed state of mind."

"A long-form ambient work awash in subtle throbs and hypnotic crackle, this entrancing recording presents the 833-45 sound in a CD length journey through a more hidden auditory spectrum of aerial electronic phenomena."

A good friend of mine recently completed an 80 minute mix of my electro-acoustic and ambient music, spanning most of the albums and EPs I've released online. If you're curious about my music, this mix is a comprehensive introduction. Thoughts and comments are encouraged.

The Over Greenland - The Lost Levels EP

A common criticism levelled against the music available through net labels is that it's almost exclusively electronic music. This may have been the case a few years ago, but the situation has been changing.

The Over Greenland is a project by a friend of mine who composes developed and complex post-rock that captures a large range of feelings, from brooding melancholy to intense joy.

If you enjoy this album, be certain to download and listen to his older work under the name Colophon:
Imprint/Tailpiece, Random Acts of Violence, and I never want to return.

Most of all, if you enjoy this music, try and send a message to the artist & let him know. A little encouragement goes a long way for those of us who offer our music for free.

Marvin Suicide Podcast

An addictive podcast featuring freely available electronic and ecclectic music from the internet. No copyrights are harmed in the making.

Hosted by the clever and curious Marvin Suicide. His surreal bantering is the real reason I listen to this podcast.

Serves as a wonderful introduction to the quality and variety of free music available online from net labels and related sources.

Digitalverein - Internal Course

Internal Course is an astonishing album full of deep and mesmerising dub-house, especially suited to late nights in new cities. It was released for free on the Thinner net label - one of the most respected labels you'll find. Even though Internal Course is a few years old now, it still remains one of my favourite albums.

The best of the best: Face the Horizon, which features a perfect bassline & a few twists, Internal Course, with it's inspiring use of vocals & Alone at River Black which ends the album perfectly on a slightly sombre note, leaving you wanting to start at the beginning again.
